Business Variables

 

Declare variables

In our process we will deal with a single object: a claim. The claim object will store information about the claim itself (i.e. its description), the provided answer and a satisfaction level.

 

Steps to declare a business variable:

 

Step1:

 

Select process pool

 



 

Step2:

 

lGo to Data>Pool variables

lClick on Add button next to Business variables

 



 

 

Step 3:

 

lEnter name as claim

lSelect Business Object as com.company.model.Claims

 



 

A business variable is declared

To use it in our transition condition definition:

 

Step 1:

 

Select the transition connecting the Satisfaction level gateway with Deal with unsatisfied customer

 




Step 2

 

lGo to General, Rename transition

lIn condition, click on pencil icon

 



 

lSelect Script in Expression type on the left hand side of the pop-up window

lType the Groovy script: claim.satisfactionLevel < 3

 







The script configured for the transition condition will return true if satisfaction level given is lower than 3, as the transition to Deal with unsatisfied customer will be activated.
